Applied Hearing Solutions in Phoenix

After 20 or more years of asking people to repeat what they've said and living with ever worsening tinnitus I finally decided to address my hearing loss. I didn't want a quick fix, I wanted to really understand the extent of my hearing loss and find solutions to improve the quality of my life. I disregarded the offers of new magical hearing devices on late night TV for a few hundred dollars. I have friends that wear hearing aids and I know that premium devices are costly. My own father was nearly deaf and although he disliked his hearing aids, (he said they squealed and the batteries didn't last long), they did help him. I researched audiologists in the greater Phoenix area and found many positive reviews of Applied Hearing Solutions and lots of praise for Dr. Cliff in particular. My experience with AHS has been phenomenal. The entire staff is wonderful. They are friendly, professional, responsive and make patients feel welcome. My initial visit with Dr. Cliff included a discussion of the issues I perceived experiencing and what my expectations were. A very comprehensive hearing test confirmed that I had significant hearing loss, particularly in the higher frequencies. Dr. Cliff believed he could significantly improve my hearing with bilateral devices and suggested they might also tame my tinnitus. During the initial fitting of my devices Dr. Cliff developed three programs for me to explore. He patiently tweaked each according to my feedback. I left that appointment with startling improved hearing. I heard EVERYTHING! Several follow up appointments dialed in specific improvements. I've had my hearing aids for 4 months and I am quite satisfied with with. I have several programs I can use for the various environments I find myself in. They are blue tooth enabled, a function I really like. My hearing aids charge at night and I wear them from the moment I wake up until bedtime. My world is pretty quiet without them. And they are comfortable. So comfortable that they did end up in the bottom of pool after diving in not realizing I had them in. I ruined them. Fortunately I opted to pay for the, (recommended), premium service package which covered the repair of them. I was provided a loaner pair to wear while mine were sent back. What could have been a very expensive mistake cost me nothing, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend AHS. Dr. Cliff, Ashley and all of the folks there are simply terrific.

I visited the center to request a broken wire be repaired on my hearing aid.. I had both of them economically replaced and was very impressed with the prompt service and knowledge of the technicians

I have been a patient of Doctor Olsen since he opened his office in Anthem and stayed with him when his practice moved to Phoenix because of his great care. I waited a very long time to investigate hearing aids but I heard some many stories from friends and associates about mediocre or bad experiences I just couldn’t get motivated to moving forward for fear of making a “huge” mistake. It is difficult to express how absolutely ecstatic I am to have found Dr. Olson and Applied Hearing Solutions! After knowing I needed hearing aids and certainly waiting too long to take any action, I somehow found Dr. Olson via YouTube. I watched a number of his videos and was impressed by what was his complete focus on finding the best possible solution for his patients hearing loss utilizing industry “best practices” and even going beyond those “best practices” guidelines. As a side point - many, many hearing aid providers do not follow industry “best practices”. Be careful when looking for a provider! Run if they don’t!! Dr. Olsosn’s clinic utilizes the latest cutting edge equipment to insure that your hearing aids (if hearing aids are needed) are perfectly tuned to your specific hearing loss. The clinic carries all of the very top brands of hearing aids. And he absolutely tailors his manufacturer’s suggestions to the best solution for the patient which often does not mean the most expensive, top-of-the-line products. He is certainly running a business but does not try to up sell or over sell you. I had a friend who went with me for my initial consultation with Dr. Olson. I invited him to come along since he had already purchased hearing aids from two other providers and was terribly disappointed with both experiences. He had come to the conclusion that “hearing aids just don’t work for me”. He was so impressed with Dr. Olson that he immediately made an initial consultation appointment for himself. That was about 10 months ago and after also becoming a patient of Dr. Olson, he considers the attention to diagnosing his specific hearing issues, the recommendation for solving his unique and specific problems, the super attentive programming of his hearing aids and the incredible follow up to insure he was receiving maximum benefit from the devices a life changing miracle! He has gone from virtually reading lips most of the time to having conversations in a crowded, echo intense restaurant and even hearing and understanding people speaking behind him in that restaurant. There are many, many places to having your hearing evaluated and, if needed, purchase hearing aids. It’s the professionalism, experience, dedication to following “best practices”, intense patient oriented follow-up to insure maximum comfort and improvement as well as dedication to the patient as an individual that will make the scary jump to hearing aids an incredible positive experience. If you go somewhere else, you MAY have a good experience. If you go to Dr. Olson’s Applied Hearing Solutions, you are GUARANTEE A GREAT experience!

My husband and I were both seen at Applied Hearing. I saw Dr. Bahldarss and my husband saw Dr. Beck. The testing at AH is mind-blowing! Great information gathering on hearing loss. Then, with the testing information gathered, the knowledge of each of these doctors was incredible! Both explained every aspect of information and they did so professionally yet in a manor that we could understand. Support staff was also friendly. We would definitely recommend Applied Hearing.
